Beaufort Inn Cottage

Beaufort Inn Cottage

This quaint four-room cottage was designed in the rear yard of the Historic Beaufort Inn in downtown Beaufort, SC. We had to utilize heavy-timber construction techniques in order to get the project approved in Beaufort’s primary fire district. The handmade bricks were carefully selected to coordinate with the other structures on the property. The new courtyard that resulted created the perfect space for small receptions and other Lowcountry gatherings. The Beaufort Inn Cottage was awarded “Best New Construction in a Historic District” by South Carolina Main Street.

High Meadows House

High Meadows House

This two-story house in High Meadows is wrapped with cypress siding, decking and rails, along with a beautiful stone base. The cypress decking and rails were chosen to provide a chemical free touch surface that would be safe for the owners and their grandchildren. This 5+ acre site allowed for an incredible walk-out basement that includes a wood-working shop, craft room, fitness area and sauna. We took advantage of Superior Wall’s basement system to ensure a dry and insulated basement.

Both levels have sixteen-foot sliding glass doors that allow the occupants to feel connected to the outdoor environment while enjoying their summer house in Roaring Gap Club.

Mitchell River House

Mitchell River House

After a few months of working on the other design, we came up with an alternate solutions that everyone immediately fell in love with. The final design has a huge mono-pitched roof sitting on glulam beams that overhang and protect the 14-foot window wall from the rain and sun. A large stone patio connects the main house to the guest house,...
