The Mitchell River House sits on 30+ acres with expansive river frontage and overlooks a beautiful pasture in Mountain Park, NC. This is one of our favorite projects, ever. The design started out as a simple gabled roof cottage that backed up to the woods. After a few months of working on the other design, we came up with an alternate solutions that everyone immediately fell in love with. The final design has a huge mono-pitched roof sitting on glulam beams that overhang and protect the 14-foot window wall from the rain and sun. A large stone patio connects the main house to the guest house, outdoor shower and garage.
