Golden Road Vineyard’s First Harvest

Golden Road Vineyards is seeing their first harvest this week from vines planted in April of 2011. The vineyard is doing very well and so are the owners. I don’t know whether or not the architect is on the list to recieve a bottle from their first vintage, but I’m formally making a request. The Liberty

The Liberty

The Liberty was renovated in 2015. The renovation converted the former tobacco warehouse and wholesale grocery distribution center into a reception hall, microbrewery and brick oven pizza pub. It was constructed around 1923 and is a contributing structure to the Downtown Elkin Historic...

The house features floor-to-ceiling glass along the riverfront and a two-story screen porch that allows the owners to get the most out of their waterfront setting. The four-foot roof overhangs and brise-soleils help protect the...

Fiddles Pub

Fiddles Pub

Fiddles Pub was an interesting project for several reasons. This is a contributing historic structure to the Downtown Elkin Historic District, but it had been carved out of a much larger parcel, leaving only one exterior wall. The resulting space was a 17’x40′ room that we needed to squeeze a commercial kitchen, bar and dining room into. Although the building is small, all of the program fit into the space quite nicely, and just about any weekend night you’ll find the locals elbow-to-elbow listening to live music and enjoying the fare. The renovations to Fiddles Pub have...
