A Lowcountry Cottage

  This was one of the first houses I had the pleasure of working on in Beaufort, SC over 15 years ago. This started out as a 1,600 SF two-story cottage on a gorgeous lot at the end of a small island close to town. The property recently went on the market, and I was glad to get a glimpse of how timeless it has remained. The lot features have grown into what we had hoped and live oaks are still thriving.

The Liberty

The Liberty

The Liberty was renovated in 2015. The renovation converted the former tobacco warehouse and wholesale grocery distribution center into a reception hall, microbrewery and brick oven pizza pub. The Liberty Tobacco Warehouse is a 30,000 SF brick structure with free spanning 100-foot heavy timber trusses and heart pine floors. It was constructed around 1923 and is a contributing structure to the Downtown Elkin Historic District.

This custom home was designed around a spectacular site adorned with several live oaks along Broomfield Creek on Lady’s Island, SC, overlooking the intracoastal waterway and the Historic Beaufort Waterfront. The house was constructed using ultra-efficient Aerated Autoclaved Concrete (AAC) block and the corners were covered in polished recycled masonry blocks.
