This 15,000 SF contributing historic Art Deco building was originally constructed around 1937 as a single screen theater. In the early 1970’s the theater was converted into professional offices and remained in this arrangement until our renovations in 2011. The new owner needed to expand his existing business operations and looked to a historic structure in downtown Elkin to do so. Compass Worship Church

The Compass worship church master plan and conceptual church design included the evaluation and site study of a 22-acre site located in Jonesville, NC. The church wanted to take full advantage of the property they had purchased and wanted to make sure there would be plenty of room for future expansion. Through conceptual design we developed a 3-phase building plan that would allow the church to grow into their new building as quickly or slowly as necessary. The project consisted of renovating 23,000 SF of a former grocery store into classrooms, offices, industrial technology studios and a GED training center.
