Church Street Renovation

This 15,000 SF contributing historic Art Deco building was originally constructed around 1937 as a single screen theater. In the early 1970’s the theater was converted into professional offices and remained in this arrangement until our renovations in 2011. The new owner needed to expand his existing business operations and looked to a historic structure in downtown Elkin to do so. The renovations included a complete rework of the main level and mezzanine┬áinteriors, as well as the addition of an emergency egress stair into the adjacent alleyway. A complete electrical service upgrage was in order as well as other significant electrical, plumbing and HVAC improvements. This is a contributing historic structure to the Downtown Elkin Historic District, and has received certification for the completed renovations from the National Park Service and the NC State Preservation Office.
